Whether it be a casual new years eve or time with family and friends, we are here to walk you through a few drinks that will help bring in the new year. Don’t forget to drink responsibly, as 2020 felt like a long hangover for many of us.
Espresso Martini
This is a drink gaining popularity for many years now, loved by people of all ages. The Espresso Martini features 2 ounces of vodka, a ½ of Kahlua, a popular coffee liqueur, an ounce of espresso, and garnished with coffee beans. This drink will feel like a slap in the face post-dinner and wakes you up in a hurry. If you don’t have espresso, or going on a health kick, feel free to opt-in your favorite cold brew. The double effect of this cocktail makes it a fantastic choice for kicking 2020 out the door. Make sure you serve chilled.
Cosmopolitan
A drink that has stood the test of time. The cosmopolitan or “cosmo” was created at a Minneapolis steak house in 1975, and since then, has taken Americans by storm. The most straightforward recipe for a cosmopolitan is; 1 ½ ounce citrus vodka, 1 ounce Cointreau, ½ ounce of lime juice, and a dash of cranberry juice. Feel free to top your cosmo off with a lime wedge for additional flavor. The cosmopolitan has a beautiful pink hue to it, is refreshing, and is drinkable all year round. Cosmopolitans at your new year’s party may be the biggest hit due to their simplicity, taste, and overall appearance.
Spicy Margarita
There perhaps is a no more powerful kick of a drink than a spicy margarita. If you don’t like spicy beverages, feel free to skip over this part of the blog. But if you are a fan of a spicy bloody mary now and then, this drink might be for you. It features Blanco tequila, jalapeno, and lime Cointreau, agave, muddled lime, orange, and last but not least, jalapeno! This drink has intense, hot flavors and a balance of sweetness that makes it a powerhouse of a cocktail. Top the rims of your margarita off with tajin seasoning, and try to use fresh limes as the taste is much more legitimate.
