As a snack or an appetizer, there’s nothing quite as a sampling different Italian small bites. Mix and match these appetizers as an excuse for a casual get-together with a friend, or a whole crowd. Who doesn’t love Bricco’s Ristorante’s signature appetizers?
Burrata
Burrata is “buttered’ in Italian. It is a rich, porcelain-white, unripened cheese mixed with mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella while the inside is filled with mozzarella and cream, giving it a soft texture. The buttery contents of burrata spill out, adding richness to the arugula, roasted red peppers, and asparagus, aged balsamic.
Zucchini Flowers
A traditional appetizer in Italy, fried zucchini flowers are slightly crispy and mild in flavor. You will end up eating these like candy; they are that good. At Bricco, we stuff our Zucchini Flowers with truffled ricotta cheese and tempura grilled vegetables.
Frittura Mista
Can’t make your mind for what you want? A frittura mista is roughly translated as mixed fried things. Enjoy a platter of calamari, scallops, shrimp, pickled jalapeño, fried onion strings, and tartar dip.
Insalata Mista
A simple green salad that’s the perfect complement before any Italian meal. The Bricco Insalata Mista version is served with passion fruit purée, roasted pears, Parmigiano cheese crostini, and spicy pecans.
Eggplant Bake
Baked eggplant is tender and quite tempting. It’s such a yummy appetizer. Tender slices of eggplant layered and bufala mozzarella, tomato coulis, and eggplant bon bons.
Soft Polenta
Polenta is cornmeal mush made with any cornmeal or grounds coarse. Polenta has a nice sweet corn flavor — our signature selection of wild mushrooms, sausage ragù, and truffle essence.
Crème di Leeks & Potato
Tis the season for leeks and potato. Leeks and potatoes make for the perfect warm but not too filling meals. Leeks have a savory mellow taste that adds for a unique flavor. Adding the crispy pancetta and crostino di Parmigiano makes for the perfect dish.
